a few things to know
Where is the wedding?
We're so excited to celebrate at Foxfire Mountain House, which is a beautiful, intimate inn in the Catskill Mountains, about 25 minutes outside of Kingston (one of our favorite cities!). Think: cozy vibes, good food, sweet people, springtime flowers, dewy mountain grass.
How do I get there?
The best way to reach Foxfire Mountain House is by car. Some of you live close enough to drive directly, while others may prefer to fly into Albany or NYC and rent a car (it's about a 90-minute drive from Albany International Airport and 2.5 hours from JFK). It is also possible to take Amtrak from Penn Station to Kingston. Trains run nine times a day, take an hour and a half, and typically cost between $30 and $50. Once you arrive to Kingston, it will be possible to get an Uber/Lyft to Foxfire, but it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to get a car to pick you up from Foxfire at the end of the weekend. It is, however, possible to schedule a car in advance to pick you up. If the train/ride share appeals to you, we encourage you to plan for how you will get back to Kingston at the end of the weekend. If you have any questions or need help with any of these logistics, please do not hesitate to let us know! Almost all of you know each other quite well already and, if not, then we hope that by the end of the weekend you will, so we will be happy to put you in touch with other folks planning travel via similar means.
Where can I stay?
Foxfire has a small number of rooms on site, which we have reserved for guests. Please contact us about this if we have not already reached out to you! If you prefer to stay off-site, there are a number of hotels in the area, which we've listed on the "Explore" page.
What is there to do around the area?
So much! If you have time, we encourage you to make a longer trip of it. Click the "Explore" page to see some of our recommendations for places to go and things to see.
Will the wedding
be indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting, our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, and dinner and dancing will be indoors.
What should I wear?
Cocktail attire. Feel free to dress it up or keep it simple. Wear something that makes you feel great and comfortable celebrating with us. We recommend a light jacket or wrap, as late April weather in the Catskills can shift quickly and evenings tend to be cool.
May I bring a plus-one?
We’re keeping our guest list intentionally intimate, so invitations are for named guests only. We appreciate your understanding and are so glad you’ll be there.
What kind of food will be served?
We’ll be enjoying a custom menu developed with the chefs and sommeliers at Foxfire that reflects the food we love and grew up with, including Caribbean flavors that feel like home to Ash. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated when noted on the RSVP. Please let us know as soon as possible if you’re bringing a baby who isn’t breastfeeding so we can coordinate children’s meals.
What should I bring?
Just yourselves! <3
What health and safety measures will be in place?
To help keep everyone safe—especially the babies and immunocompromised loved ones in attendance—we strongly encourage all guests to be fully vaccinated for both COVID-19 and the seasonal flu. If you’re feeling unwell or have been recently exposed to illness, we kindly ask that you stay home and celebrate with us another time.
